The EGPS One-Year Group Therapy Training Program

Led by a renowned faculty of group psychotherapists, this one-year psychodynamically oriented training program contains all the elements of an integrated curriculum. From October to June, meeting each Wednesday evening, three components of theory and methods, group process, and supervision are synthesized. Different faculty in their respective areas of expertize lead each component.

Our training program is the recipient of the "Award for Outstanding Contributions in Education and Training in the Field of Group Therapy" presented by The National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists. We are honored by this recognition and are proud to say that in our nearly 25 years of training in the New York metropolitan area we have certified over 350 mental health professionals as group therapists. Be one of them.

EGPS Supervision Program

Based on the repeated requests of students who have found our one-year training program immensely beneficial, a second year of supervision was instituted.  Thus we offer an advanced year of Supervision on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 8:30pm for those who have completed the EGPS One-Year Training Program or its equivalent.  Its goal is to further enhance and develop basic skills already mastered.  This year of advanced supervision enables those who have completed the first year of the EGPS Training Program to receive the 75 hours of supervision required for the Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) credential. Only the most senior group therapists from the EGPS community will lead our supervision sessions.
